I started my beginner classes with an old pair of Jackson Freestyle which had stiff foam and soft sides. The toe box was too narrow for me as well so all my ice sessions were about 30-40 mins long. I just switched to the Electra Light after using Anatares on inline frames at home and I’m so much happier. The sides are stiffer but the foam is softer so it’s perfect, you get support without feeling like you’re going to break your boots on jumps. As I mentioned in a previous review, I get my Risports from Spain or Italy and that is honestly the way to go to save money on Italian brands. The fit and finish from Electra on up is just so much nicer than Venus or Anatares. The leather looks nicer, the soles are sturdier and not made of plastic, yet the boots aren’t much heavier. This is the kind of boot to get you through your jumps and deep edges without breaking boots halfway through the year. It’s got a really wide toe box but a tapered point so the look is elegant yet not confining if you have wide toes. This is a boot I can see lasting through modest jumps and the rolled cuff in the back means I can ice dance in these just a little better than in boots with higher shafts. Definitely recommend.
