I bought these for recreational skating as an adult when my feet got wider after pregnancy and my old skates were too narrow. At the time I was only skating during a few winter months on an outdoor rink as we didn’t have any year round indoor rinks. About a year ago, we finally got a year round indoor rink here and I’ve been skating several times a week wearing my Emeralds. I have had them for 6 years! 5 of those years were just a few months a year of skating once a week but the last year has been several times a week. The best thing about these skates is the comfort. They were comfortable for me from day 1. They continue to be comfortable for me now, although I realize that they probably are about 1/2 size too big for me. In the past year I’ve been taking Adult Learn to Skate classes, synchronized skating, and ice dance lessons. I haven’t started to jump yet. They have worked well for me. I have a wide foot and bought wide width. I am heavy for my height. The only issue I had was after leaving them in the car in the summer heat, the sole of one of them started to separate from the heel. I was able to repair with shoe gorilla glue and haven’t made that mistake again. I am going to start private lessons soon and work on more freestyle elements so I will probably be moving up to a stiffer skate but I have really enjoyed these.

I am still in these skates. They are pretty light on the feet. They were recommended to me by my instructor as someone with a wide foot. I have psoriatic arthritis and tendonitis in my feet, but they always feel great after skating. I wear a 7 and they feel very secure.

These are your typical beginner sets. They were my first skates before I switched to Jackson classique (which either got rebranded to mystiques or completely discontinued).
This is an amazing Set for those who are just starting to skate and are around the ages of 8-16. But if You are an adult skater I would recommend going up a level starting in Riedell diamonds or Jackson mystiques. Definitely worth the price, way better than rental skates, and they feel really nice to skate in with no breaking in (obviously).
